Senior Adult Ministries
Senior Adults are important to Grace Baptist too! Yes, we have the usual program events such as Sunday School, worship, and Prayer Meeting. But we have special ministries and programs for seniors.
XYZ is our monthly lunch meeting of our seniors. They meet at 11:00 a.m. on the second Thursday of each month. Programs with guest speakers are planned for each month. Their programs feature speakers who share information related to senior adults as well as musical selections by guest musicians. Quarterly, the church provides lunch for XYZ. Usually, the church provides the meat and everyone else brings a covered dish. (And the food is so good!) Plans are also shared for the monthly trip to selected locations and events. Visitors are welcome to sign up for these trips too.
Our Senior Adult choir, XYZ Singers has an active ministry in the community. They sing at numerous senior adult centers and special events in and around the Sumter area. They rehearse every Thursday, 1 PM.
Our seniors are involved with the quarterly events of the Santee Associational Senior Adult ministry. Yearly, our group goes to the Santee Associational Senior Adult Retreat to Myrtle Beach. It is always a great overnight event.
And seniors are involved in many other aspects of our church. We encourage and need their leadership and experience.
